JUMP 9: Carnival Phantasm

AKA Carnival Wedding Crasher

Age: 22
This is the oldest I've ever started! ... wow, how'd I manage that one?
Location Vehicle: Assassin Unit Honeymoon II
Seems like a vehicle made just for sarcastic people with spite. Perfect
Background: Drop in Tiger Dojo
I don't know anything else about this place to really choose anything else.

Free Things
-"Carnival Spirits" Perk (Free Tiger Dojo)
(Comedic timing and reactions are improved)

... Okay, now I'm complaining about the lack of free things.

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Up to +600 CP)
-Love and Money +100 CP
(Because just being greedy around Shovel Knight wasn't enough: I'm now greedy and broke and
    desperate for cash...)
-Temple-Bound +300 CP
(Might as well, I've got just the vehicle for it.)

Perks + Items
(1400 CP to spend)
-Badump! Date Super Plan! -600 CP
(I can plan things like an absolute madman, seemingly making the impossible, well, possible.
Granted, whether or not I can actually pull them off with the resources I have is a whole 'nother
    story...)
-GARcher -100 CP
(Instant Badass. Which... I wouldn't use to describe myself, but hey. It's useful, right?)
-Like Hell I'd Die -600 CP
(I can, in theory, dodge lethal situations. Either completely successfully or in a hilarious slapstick
fashion. Seems like a good idea, especially with Dingo around...)
-Grail Replica -50 CP
    (Shiny.)
-Drinking Fountain -50 CP
(Infinite ice and a drink of my choice... I can't decide if I should be practical and go with water or
    have an emergency wine stash.)

..............
I don't have much to say, not a lot of the perks here caught my interest. But I'm glad I was able to afford the ones that did.

Dingo I know you're gonna comment on how I didn't buy a companion.

INTERMISSION

...
Dingo Brando is getting married.
WHAT.

I can't believe anyone would find the dog a suitable spouse, but... it'd be rude for me not to wish them the best. And hey, maybe I could find something interesting while in the universe they've chosen to be wed in.

Mordred invited fellow jumpers, so that's as good as any reason to be a snarky asshole tease Whingo-Dingo.

*Congratulations, because no one asked, you know what D and Dingo look like.

JUMP 8: Results

Adventuring is hard. It's also a long journey.
*TL;DR, just in case - Shard AKA Mirror Knight makes mirrors and joins Shovel Knight through the game starting at the Lich Yard.

Who would have thought adventures included insanely deep pits everywhere? There alwaays had to be treasure over pits, and I fell down almost every single pit there could be.

That said, I should probably mentioned what I did first in order to further prep for my travels.

First order of business was to make sure my weapon was durable enough for the long term. Surprise of all surprises, glass breaks pretty easily. So I spent a good portion of my first few months making a load of new mirrors, and running them through 914 to toughen them up. It was a bit unwieldy though: some of them were tougher, others reflected more clearly, other's still had a fancier design. One I had to get rid of because it went through the Very Fine setting, and it was, um... it reflected light really powerfully. By the end of it I had a couple that were good for combat and others good for distraction by breaking them!

Next order of business was to travel to the village to redeem my Meal Ticket. Simple as that.
As I was eating I heard some villagers talking about a knight who'd taken back some place called Pridemoor Keep, and speculation that he was headed to a graveyard next to fight one called Specter Knight. I asked someone for directions and headed out to get more information...

But then I was stopped by a Black Knight who also wielded mirrors. Not unexpected, but I was caught off guard when his mirrors proved to be the same quality as mine! Either that meant they had a similar machine or they were just that good with making mirrors. It was close, but I came out victorious.

With that setback I had no time to lose- I had to sprint through The Lich Yard as fast as I could (which could have been faster, I admit, thanks to all the treasure just lying about.) Towards the end of this haunted place I met a blue-armor clad man: Shovel Knight.
Thanks to my rival I was unable to assist him with his fight with the ghost-like Specter Knight. It was basically over the moment I arrived. When Specter Knight fell I introduced myself as Mirror Knight and asked the blue knight for more information. That was how I learned there was an Enchantress that planned world domination that needed to be stopped.

... It sounded a bit cliche in hindsight, but I was eager to offer companionship. I don't know, something about having to be the one to stand up to a greater evil... hits a bit close to home. He accepted.

The next stop was the Explodatorium. At first it seemed like a wonderful place to conduct more experiments, but it quickly proved to be exceptionally annoying to navigate. Shovel Knight however had little difficulty leaping from obstacle to obstacle... it was quite impressive. I started to feel like a hindrance, but he didn't seem to mind. Or if he did mind he didn't let me know.
Plague Knight... was an interesting character. He seemed surprised to see another person traveling with Shovel Knight, but... we shared a similar sense of humor. Regardless, he was working with the Enchantress and a fight had to be fought. I threw down a ton of mirrors, which I think confused the alchemist seeing as he was breaking potion bottles left and right.
It was a spectacle of a fight, but we were victorious. I was slightly disappointed Plague Knight disappeared immediately, I was hoping we could chat afterwards...

Each time a member of the Order of No Quarter was defeated, we traveled back into the village for various reasons. Sometimes just a meal, others to buy potions... and meeting up with a Bard to return music sheets. The bard and I got along exceptionally well, and every now and again we played music together.

After meeting the alchemist we went to two of the most opposite locations this land had to offer: the sunken Iron Whale and the fiery Lost City. I seriously don't know how Shovel Knight is able to navigate through these places without any trouble. You'd think it'd at least get a bit hot under that armor, or it would weigh him down underwater, but no. It just doesn't.
I guess I can't complain since being in space isn't an issue for me, but still...
So, obviously, the Iron Whale was particularly difficult for me. Especially considering the one who guarded it - Treasure Knight. Due to the condition I got for myself, we had, um, quite the disagreement on who really should own the treasure he gathered. I'm embarrassed to admit my greed made me able to fought harder...

Next was the Clockwork Tower. This place was also very fitting to my tastes, and I think I was finally getting into the swing of things as far as adventuring was concerned!
Well, until we journeyed to the Stranded Ship. It was freezing and slippery. I'm positive I fell down every pit here. So disappointed in myself still...

In between our trip from town to the Flying Machine, we ran into my rival again! And this time, he was paired up with another knight with a shovel... also called Black Knight. That was confusing. But I didn't mind in the heat of the moment! It was a 2 on 2 fight between us heroes and those dark turncoats! It was an interesting experience, as I basically had to fight against "not" Shovel Knight while he fought against "not" me. He was able to dispose of my rival quickly... I guess he took notice of what techniques I used all this time.

So, the Flying Machine. Um, well...
It sucked.
... Propeller Knight reminded me of some people back home though.

It was finally time to traverse to the Enchantress herself. I found myself wondering what kept my companion going throughout this adventure of his.
Turned out he'd lost his partner some time ago... That's all he cared to say about the matter. Outwardly I respected that, but really I was bit annoyed I couldn't know more.

That ended up not being a problem after we scaled the Tower of Fate and found Black Knight once more, this time enhanced with magic via the Enchantress. It was a hellish fight - her magic was great, and his skills nearly stopped us for good. But after seeing the Enchantress, she reminded me of someone... and I pushed as hard as I could to help defeat the enhanced Black Knight.

It hurt.

Black Knight told us that the Enchantress was in fact Shovel Knight's lost partner, Shield Knight, and all that he wanted to do was make sure Shovel Knight wasn't going to kill her.
He agreed.
Thank god. I wouldn't want to associate with anyone who'd make such a decision...

In my condition, I wasn't able to go into the Tower with Shovel Knight. He told Black Knight to lead me down the tower, which he obliged and immediately made his way back up. I hoped he was intending to assist his "rival." It's probably better that I stayed out of that conflict anyway, it seems too personal for me to get involved.

But I'm still proud of what I accomplished here. I uh, got over myself and did something for once. And I made a pretty good friend. It's unfortunate that I can't bring him along for the rest of my time jumping. He has a definite role here.

I feel... a lot better now.

JUMP 8: Shovel Knight

SO!
After thinking about it, I decided that I was a bit too passive in my other jumps. Just letting things happen, ya know? So, um, I'm going to attempt to get a slice of the action this time around! Back in a setting that seems a bit familiar to me...

Age: 21
Weird how this is the youngest option..
Location: Armor Outpost
Seems completely suitable for adventure-prep! Also there's hats, and I approve.
Background: Drop-in
It's free, and I still get to be a knight with a specialized weapon
CAN YOU TAKE A GUESS AS TO WHAT I'LL BE TAKING?
...I-it's mirrors if it wasn't entirely obvious.

Free Things:
-A decent weapon (big mirror) and armor
(Ah, I was kind of worried the Outpost wouldn't be able to craft a mirror.)
-"Inconspicuous" Perk (Free for Drop-in)
(Any weird shit I'll say will be taken as a joke or otherwise positive.)

...And that's it. I'd complain if I didn't have so many things already.

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Two Drawbacks)
-Treasure Obsessed +100 CP
(Karma for having Castle of Glass I suppose)
-Black you +200 CP
(Oh boy, a real rival who isn't a watch dog! Just as skilled as I am. How do black mirrors work
    though...?)

Perks + Items
(1300 to spend)
-Experienced -300 CP
(I can use my mirror very well. Seems like a mandatory thing)
-Gift of the Self -800 -400 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(... I'm more connected with myself, and will find it easier to stick to my morals. I can even push
past my limits, though it'll hurt.)
-Smith -300 CP
(And now I can make my mirrors myself. I guess that also includes the armor and other weapons
    here...)
-Drop Spark -200 CP
(Projectile! Only works when I'm at full health feeling particularly well)
-Treasure -50 CP
-Meal Ticket -50 CP
(Gotta start somewhere. Money and a nice meal would be a good one.)

Alright. I'm all geared up, let's actually attempt to go through with this whole adventure plan!

What?
You think this is a vain attempt to make me feel better about myself? Don't be silly!

JUMP 7: Results

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, ISN'T THAT WHAT THEY ALWAYS SAY!?

After my update, I was pretty much thrust into a castle with no warning. How that happened, I could only assume the world twisted in on itself.

And, per my wish, any semblance of logic this world had was destroyed. I'd walk forward and end up sideways on the wall, and when I jumped the floor/wall/ceiling I'd land on would break through and I'd end up somewhere else entirely. It was extremely hard to navigate, so I ended up wishing for a clear path. That was simple, right?

Well, it did make one. It was made of glass. Very fragile glass. I had to run before I'd fall into... where-ever wonderland would have intended to take me. I managed to stay on the path, though, where it lead me to a courtroom.

It seemed this girl named Alice was on trial for something or another. No one was bothered by my entrance, so I sat around and listened. The queen was very unreasonable, and without any evidence declared that the girl should be beheaded.

And then I spoke up with my Moral. "Dear," (I don't know why I said that, must be Wonderland rubbing off on me) "You should always have another witness!"
I'm not even sure why I went with that lesson. It made sense, but I hadn't met Alice until this point.

The queen was more than unpleased with my interruption, and I got myself a death sentence as well! So Alice and I both had to run from that court. I'm just glad that happened towards the end of my time there!
I also hope Alice got out of there alright...

MORAL OF THE STORY: Don't wish for anything!
Wishes are smart asses.

But at least I wasn't lonely for a while.

JUMP 7: Update

I don't know if I can keep doing this.
I mean, I'm going to keep going, because of a certain dog...

I kind of regret taking No Nonsense perk, because with it, I'm just kind of wandering around and looking around while contemplating... if I was more prone to the crazy things that happen here maybe it'd be more tolerable.

I guess I kinda am lonely.

... Wonder how Natir's doing back with the team.
And how Steven and the gems are getting along.
... those are the only people I've really interacted with over 60 some years, huh?

...

See, that's the kind of introspection I've been trying to avoid! I wish something really insane would happen so I could think about anything else!

*Whoops...

*Hi guys! I made a calculation error... but first have a poorly edited stats circle for Castle of Glass!

*Shout-out to Gimp for being a thing. So, does that make things any better?
*No...?
*Okaayy...
*So, like I said, I dun goofed, on the SCP-Foundation jump to be specific. See, I never actually accounted for the CP taken away by the Researcher background, so I used 100 more CP than
   Shard actually had.

*So, to make the difference back, D. Shard no longer has the key that can unlock anything.
*Which is a good thing I caught that mistake this morning because I was totally going to use it on the Wonderland jump.

*That's it though. If you catch any mistakes I miss feel free to comment and I'll do my best to remedy it! Thanks for being patient!

*Oh wait, hold up! Another friend has joined the jumpchain nonsense!
*Future Jump King

JUMP 7: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

I feel like I'm just going through as different genres as possible. First a ridiculously bizarre yet manly setting, then super scientific research, and now... this.

Age: N/A
Again...?
Location: The Caucus Race
What... even is this? Least I'm not limited to here...
Background: Drop-in Visitor
Back to the status quo.

Free Things
I just realized I didn't get any free things from the SCP Foundation...
DAMN.
-Pepper
(Pepper. All the pepper I could ever want. I guess I could use it for an obsession...?)

... THAT'S IT??

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Up to +600 CP daisies...??)
-MORALS! +100 daisies
(I have to give some kind of moral to every story I hear. Even though they make no sense... Huh, it's
been a while since I brought up them, I wonder how they're handling me.)
-Lost +300 daisies
(What it says on the tin. "No road will be walked twice.")

Perks + Items
(1400 daisies to spend) 1200
-Longitudal Vocabulary -100 -50 daisies (discount Visitor)
(My lexiconology is now sufficiently increasiarified, and everyone will understand my words
exactimendately... provided they share some similarity to the originatority word.)
-I have a Cat -300 -150 daisies (discount Visitor)
(I can threaten people very effectively... I only took this to round out the points. I mean daisies.)
-A wish of Hope -600 -300 daisies (discount Visitor)
(Um... I can make a wish and the world will make it so? But the larger the wish, the larger the consequence... I'll have to be careful with this one. No bringing any family back what?)
-Best Butter -200 daisies
(It... fixes mechanical things?? WHAT? I-I guess it can be used on SCP-914...)
-No nonsense -100 daisies
(Insane things aren't that insane when you don't think about it!)
-Flat Back -100 daisies
(...insanely, what it says on the tin. I'm completely flat when I lay down... why am I taking these.)
-DRINK ME -100 daisies
(Drink it, and shrink it. To 2 inches, exactly.)
-EAT ME -100 daisies
(Eat it, and... offbeat it? It makes me grow up to 10 feet! ... too big for my dimensional cape...)
-Thimble -200 daisies
(Give them to people, and they'll accept it as a prize. Okay.)

....................................
Why am I doing this again?

JUMP 6: Results

That took much longer than I thought it was going to.

I'm super glad I took that other blend-in perk. It made it a lot easier to do my SCP work, as well as sneaking into my warehouse. I think only a few D-Class suspected I had some "anomalous" items.

But, yeah, making SCP-914 was a chore. That machine is so complex, the guide was a little annoying considering how thin it was, the gears were all shiny and reflective, but... it took two years alone to make it again, and that was with what focus I had!
Which I admit wasn't a lot...
But I tried, dammit.

I had some access to other Safe SCPs, and I thought I'd try my hand at recreating one other than 914. The one I found most interesting at the time was a multitool by the number 117. It really is a multitool by every sense of the word. Considering I didn't have a guide, though, and the seemingly infinite possibilities it could produce... I wasn't able to make it a "perfect" replica, but I made all the functions work that were written in the Experiment Log.

Not a whole lot to say, unless you wanna know some the experiments I did with SCP-914.
...
On a completely unrelated note my Ukulele is a guitar now, and it sounds great.

JUMP 6: SCP Foundation

You know I love stuff! And this place, from what I've read, has a bunch of weird stuff!
Lets not waste time, I've got a thing I've got my eye on.

Age: N/A
Location: Free Choice!
Hmm, let's go with Site-19*
*I chose this one because it's the one that I believe is featured in the SCP Containment Breach game, which has a certain SCP we're interested in.
Background: Researcher (-100 CP)
Lookit that, I finally stopped choosing the drop-in option. Mostly because it sucks. I want to be able to work with these things, anyway.

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Two Drawbacks)
-You Know What They Say +200 CP *The more the merrier!
(I'm blond and have ADHD... okay. I do have medicine, but... ADHD. It's fine, I think I can manage
    my idea with 10 years...)

Perks + Items
(1200 CP to spend) 1000
-Murphy's Law -100 -50 CP (Discount Reseacher)
(Apparently just getting a bad feeling and being right about it is a perk now... to be fair, it's accurate
and helps me prevent those mistakes, and how to handle them if it happens anyway.)
-Nothing to See Here, Move Along -200 CP
(Because I always need more perks that let me hide from people. I'm good at hiding my
strangeness. Now, time for my dumb desire to have a neat thing...)
-Sufficiently Advanced -600 -300 CP (Discount Researcher)
(STEP ONE: Learn how to recreate Safe and Euclid-classed SCP's within a few months or years
    time!)
-SCP-914's Manual -400 CP
(STEP TWO: This. It lets me recreate SCP-914 in my own warehouse. What's it do? It takes an
object and... changes them depending on what setting it's on. Super simplified: Course settings
tends to bring a thing to it's basic components, Fine makes an object into the same thing but
higher quality, and 1:1 is an equal but different creation. Now to take whatever else looks nifty)
-SCP-005 -100 CP
(It's a key that can open anything, including mechanical locks. Like my warehouse key, except I'll
actually see the other side... hopefully the folks here don't notice my key.)*
-Bottle of SCP-500 -100 CP
(50 pills that can cure any disease within two hours. Because just because a disease is incurable,
doesn't mean it can't be cured. Also, these things refill , one pill per week.)
-The Full Wiki -50 CP
(This'll help me when recreating whatever I find... wha... What is this article about me? For um,
clarification, there's an article that describes me, a toaster, and no matter what I can only refer to
myself in the first person? Weird... I don't think it'll be necessary to recreate myself.)

... So what if I only came here to experiment with SCP-914? Are you honestly going to judge me for that!? Imagine what it could do with all of my other stuff!

*This isn't something Shard has anymore. I made a post explaining why.

JUMP 5: Results

I stayed the hell away from the action.

It became apparent to me, judging with the perks I grabbed, that other people would have similar abilities to mine. Not only that, but it seems that each Stand is unique. Every, single, one of them. I don't have the time to figure out what every stand I'd come across would do. Especially considering my abilities? Other's could be even more bizarre!

...Well, technically speaking, I did have plenty of time, but... it seemed too dangerous. It's much easier to make someone's obsession runaway towards the north pole and blend-in before they got out of range.

Oh, um, speaking of, making someone's obsession "Death" doesn't necessarily mean their own death. I'm glad I took Zoom Punch for that occasion. I didn't really have the heart to make their obsession "killing themselves," anyway...

The lame leg was also surprisingly hard to get used to again. To be fair, it had been... 40 years since I had a bad leg... wow, these jumps really make time fly, I barely even noticed. I'm probably gonna refrain from crippling myself from this point on.

Still, glad I came here and got Castle of Glass.
It fits in with my glass obsession anyway...

JUMP 5: The Stand

I'm not sure how to feel about the nature of my soul this Stand, but... here, this is what I've been able to learn about it...

Castle of Glass
Stats
Destructive Power: E
Speed: C
Range: E
Durability: B
Precision: A
Developmental Potential: A

Ability:
... It allows me to give a target one obsession. An obsession so strong it's difficult to focus on anything else. I've experimented, and it's ranged from things to objects (like cake) to goals (like learning how to phase through a wall. That one was fun) to concepts (like honor. Note to self, try obsession). It only works when I'm close by, though.

It's uh, a neat thing to use, and I'm glad it's interesting, but...
What does that say about me?

*Super Shout-Out to Dingo of all people for helping me with Shard's stand! You should totally shitpost on his blog.

JUMP 5: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

* *Ahem* SONO CHI NO SADAMEEEE
*Okay, sorry, had to get that out of my system.

So apparently this place is bat-shit crazy. It's broken my "oh hey there's monsters" streak though.

Age: 21
That's still pretty young, considering my options! Also considering I was 28 when I left Beach City
Location Staring Era...?: The Reset
I have no idea what's going on!*
*Me neither, I'll only watched parts 1-3. Damn dice. So uh, I'm probably not involving Shard in the plot at all... my apologies.
Background: Drop-In
The answers appears to be no, I'll keep taking the free option.

Free Things
-"Calisthenics" Perk
    (I can... pose? Okay...?)
-"Dynamic Entry" Perk
(And my introductions will always look good...? Actually, that might have been useful with the
    Crystal Gems)
-"Joestar Secret Technique" Perk
(I can... what are these perks even. I can run from danger as fast as possible, although it has to be
    "comedic")
-"Dramatic Persona" Perk
(And now all of these ridiculous things will never be questioned by anyone. I'm also turning off the
    sparkles until further notice.)
-"Prediction" Perk (Free Drop-in)
(Without fail, I can tell what a people will immediately say. A great distraction.)
-Steady Breathing (Hamon)
(I feel spoiled with how many free thing there are here. Other than that, it's exactly what it says on
    the tin)

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Up to +600 CP)
-Paraplegic +200 CP
(SURE. Why not? I've had a fake leg before! Isn't gonna stop me from posing, I guess! Might be a
big problem trying to use the Joestar Secret Technique though...)

Perks + Items
(1200 CP to spend) 1100
-The Stand -500 CP
(My soul... has a physical form of some kind? I'll make a separate journal entry for when I figure out
    how it works...)
-Deception Detection -600 -300 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(I call bullshit! This is more like a danger sense. Danger including lies and deceit though.)
-Zoom Punch -200 CP
(... there was another perk I really wanted to take, but I figured I'd boost some offense for once in
my life. Five feet exetension to my limbs though? Not bad at all)
-Multi-Lingual -100 CP
(What it says on the tin. + being able to pick up languages very quickly)
-Reinforced Clothing -50 CP
(No matter which universe I find myself in, I'll have a week's worth of clothes that fit the style. No
more torn worn poncho coat for me. It's apparently good for taking damage, too.)
-Obscuring Scarf* -50 CP
(It's really shiny~ And when I wrap it around myself my chances of blending in and getting away
with things increases by quite a lot)

... I still don't know what's going on so I guess I'll focus on what this Stand does. But hey, I got a lot of free things, so I'm not complaining.

*I just realized D has a lot of clothing, including a scarf, a hat, a cape, a mask, and a magical boy transformation. That has nothing to do with anything, but it's amusing.

JUMP 4: Results

...
Please ignore my intermission entry.

I was raving on something that couldn't possibly be and I'd appreciate it if we could all pretend that never happened. Stupid drawback perk I had so many points anyway...

ANYWAY. Um, how'd things go here?
It was one part learning things, like how to drive and how to play the ukulele, and one part mostly seeing the Crystal Gems fight other monsters. They did a good job, keeping it away from civilians. Wish I was that good.
And no parts putting together a dumb conspiracy we've agreed to this.

Oh, right, I actually got to meet the Crystal Gems. Turns out when you're an effectively mute crazy human using their technology it makes you a pretty suspicious target. Things didn't exactly help when my first reaction to the tall one's fists was to put on my hat from the Kirby jump and use those mirrors. Thankfully that kid Steven was around. He's a real nice guy, and broke up the fight as quick as possible. I couldn't explain who or what I was even if I tried, but, um...

this is embarrassing.
A random musical number got their trust.

Um, basically they decided I wasn't a threat to them, but they'd appreciate it if I didn't build warp pads everywhere. That was fine with me, I just wanted to learn how to do it efficiently, so I constructed and deconstructed the same one over and over again. Steven invited me to come on some adventures with him every once in a blue moon, too. Sometimes it was just going to the arcade, but just a few sometimes monsters were involved, and I was able to help them with it. They're really impressive in my opinion...

But other than that, a lot of learning. How to drive, how to play music, build warps, destroy warps, ignoring my own thoughts, stuff like that.

This is kinda the first universe I've found that I wouldn't mind staying in, but... I've gotta move on.
Before I die of embarrassment

JUMP 4: Intermission

I SWEAR
GOD
EVERYONE IS BLIND.

So there's these gem people that protect this city, right? They seem like good people!
BUT.
I swear I just swear I can see something sinister in those gems that are part of their bodies it's her I know it's her there's no other logical possibility.

Who's her?
Why, it's just her! She's a demon of glass that lives in reflections I know it's gotta be her I feel like she's hiding in the Crystal Gems reflections! I don't know what she could be doing in this universe but it's gotta be, I mean I have a lot of glass-based abilities, it could be MY FAULT she's around!

BUT NOBODY WILL LISTEN!
Not like I can even say anything to them, it all just spills out into nonsense! THIS ISN'T NONSENSE THOUGH IT'S REAL AND I CAN FEEL IT SHE'S WATCHING.
I hope those Crystal Gem heroes can stay safe knowing a literal demon is around.

JUMP 4: Steven Universe

You know, this place doesn't seem that bad either. Kinda reminds me of the Magical Girl Jump.
Monsters here too?
I... should stop being surprised.

Age: 18
Well.... it's better than being 12.
Location: Beach City, Delmarva
It's the only option here! Not a bad place at all though.
Background: Drop-In
I wonder if I'll ever take a different background.

Free Things
-A crystal clear singing voice!
(Not questioning it... heh, crystal clear...)
-"He Was Incredible!" Perk (Free for Drop-In)
(I'm no longer afraid for any heroic people I care about, and instead cheer them on. Could have used
this thing a looong time ago.)
-A Van! (Free for Drop-In)
(SWEET! Seems like a super-convenient door for the warehouse... now I have to learn how to use
    this contraption. Seats two.)

Drawbacks and Suffering
(up to +600 CP)
-Unintelligible +200 CP
(I can't speak. And if I attempt to it'll only be garbled nonsense. I assume writing is okay though?*
So the journal should be safe.)
-Keep Beach City Weird! +100 CP
(I'm now a conspiracy-theorist nutcase. Sounds like a GREAT combination along with being mute,
    right??)
-Cat Fingers +200 CP
(Any shape-shifting I try to do with go horribly wrong! Lucky I can stick to one body. To be safe
though, I'll avoid using my transformation pendant even if it just changes clothes for the most part)

Perks + Items
(1500 CP to spend)
-Really? -100 -50 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(Patience is a virtue. One that I'll need. Knowing certain dogs...)
-Audio Daddy-O -600 -300 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(In my hands, older technology can be used just as well as all this newfangled tech.)
-Confounded Warps, How Do They Work? -200 CP
(I know how to use warp pads now, as well as build my own! I wonder if it's disorienting to use...)
-Gimme The Bits -100 -50 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(I can cook. That's about it.)
-Peace and Love on the Planet Earth -400 CP
(Along with my singing voice, people will find it easy to join in. It's uh, a really social skill, and I'm
not sure if it's for me... but I have a surprising amount of points I need to burn, and the last thing I
need is even more pocket dimensions. Good for making fast friends.)
-Ukelele -50 CP
(It's like a lute, but not! Good for that last perk)
-Book Collection -50 CP
    (READING~)
-Temple Room Access -200 CP
(Basically, it's a secret safe haven just for me to enter, based off my personality and a gemstone of
my choosing... I'll go with Hematite. It's supposed to be good for spiritual grounding. And it's one of
the most reflective stones out there. Um, I have to use said gem as a keystone because I'm not a
    polymorphic rock person.
It can also create illusion-ish objects, but still tangible to use only within the room. It'll be in my
warehouse post-jump, but for now it's in some ruins-ish area.)
-Hub Access -200 CP
(I know where warp pads are and can use them, including ones I can construct additional warp
pads. One warp pad will also be in my warehouse post-jump)

This feels like a lot... also like the Magical Girl jump. I'm feeling pretty refreshed, so let's see what I can manage with all of this, shall we?

*About the Unintelligible drawback: "You don't even speak most of the time, and what little you do say is utterly incomprehensible to everyone. Seriously, attempting to communicate with anyone, in any way they can understand, is somewhere between a "long shot" and a "lost cause."" It only says in terms of speaking, so I'm not 100% sure how much it would affect written communication. That said, he's still a complete nutcase these 10 years.

JUMP 3: Results

I'm not even sure what you expect me to say, I tried my hardest to have a nice time.
And I did!
For the most part.

I did run into a few problems.
First off, I found this great napping spot within the clouds, but I couldn't ever sleep there because this... cloud-eyeball-spiked creature apparently lived around there and wasn't pleased with me, and expressed this through lightening. I tried fighting it off, but around the third time I remembered I was supposed to relax.
Note to another curious: The fall down from Dreamland's clouds wasn't actually that bad. Clouds are surprisingly think as well.

Oh, and this weird pink puffball thing kept trying to eat me. Probably because I tasted like soda candy not that I tasted myself or anything, that'd be really weird. There always seemed to be monsters around to try the thing, too, so whenever I saw them I just did my best to get away.

Other than those setbacks, well... it was nice. It was a good balance of sweet and peaceful, but just enough going on now and again to practice using my Mirror Hat, and the cape as well. Not much else to say here, time to keep jumping.

JUMP 3: Kirby's Dreamland

This place is... cute. And weirdly delicious. Including me, according to them.
Wait what

Age: 21
Technically I didn't have to roll for this, buuut what the hell, I'm on vacation, I'm gonna just let it slide.
Location: Bubbly Clouds
A light fluffy area of clouds. Solid enough to stand on, but easy enough to burrow through. Note to self, don't investigate straight down.
Background: Drop-In
Always love the free choice.

Free Things
-Infinite Food
(Well, this wasn't listed, but everything's edible, so I thought I'd list it here)
-A "dream-land" form!
(Now I too can be cute and round)

... WAIT THAT'S IT?? I swear either I'm spoiled or I'm being ripped off...

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Two drawbacks)
-No Noddies were Harmed +100 CP
(This land is now littered in... sleepy little round critters. I mean, I guess I could just kick- nooo, no
that's way too cruel... I could gently push them aside?)

... That's all I'm gonna take, actually. I've gotta keep reminding myself I'm here to relax.

Perks + Items
(1100 CP to spend) 1100

One copy ability: Can only be used while wearing the appropriate headgear.
-Mirror -300 CP
(I've got to admit, I'm holding onto the motif from the Magical Girl jump. I might be a bit obsessed.
A-anyway, this allows me to shoot out a short spray of reflective energy, 10 feet at most.
Additionally, I can make temporary mirrored clones of myself that can also fight. From what I
understand, their actions mimic mine and they actions. Comes with a jester hat, which... I don't
know if it fits my aesthetic...)
-Hat Import -50 CP
(I'D RATHER HAVE A WIZARD HAT. It'll still be blue/red though.)

-Vacuum Immunity -100 -/+0 CP (FREE Drop-in)
(So, um, being in space just isn't a concern anymore? I can "swim" in space now...)
-Don't Lose Your Way *Don't Be Afraid~ -300 CP
(I'll always end up where I need to go simply by wondering... though it'll take a while)
-Sweet Stockpile -50 CP
(What a weird basket. It contains one sweet of some kind or another that, if eaten, will materialize a
new one by dawn? And they don't go bad inside the basket, either.)
-Dimensional Cape -400 CP
(It's like a security blanket, but with magic! O-Okay, not really, but it seems to manipulate space.
Abilities include teleportation, blocking attacks, and adapting to fit whatever form I choose, up to 7
feet tall. Also comes with a mask that I could use as a substitute for my Copy Ability Hat... but
    why not both!?)

And, well, that's it. I don't really have much of a plan, other than relaxing and enjoying to cute scenery, maybe take a nice nap with those little Noddy buddies. And hey, I get some really nice costume-stuffs with magic.
... Wait you mean there's actual threats here too?

GOD DAMMIT.

Jump 2: Results

Well then.
Um.
We saved the world from Darkness, I guessed ...?
(Even the rivals helped. Amazing.)

I gotta say, this was... somehow both less and more fun than I was expecting.

On the one hand, I was battered and bruised and scorched on a few occasions, with little time to rest, so I had to rely on my friends comrades a lot to cover for me. We got fairly popular, especially with other kids who also wanted magical powers.
... I hope they don't stumble into jumping at a young age.

Oh, but it certainly was fun using magic, I can't deny that! It felt soooo good cancelling my foes spells and watch the look on their faces! It never failed to make me feel smug. And I did manage to find a few uses for my sword after all! Turns out there were a lot of villain-structures that were both eyesores and negative energy magic magnet... things.

So, you're gonna stay with us, right? More adventures and all, right??

... No.
I really did enjoy developing my powers here, but there's two possibilities for this universe: either it's peaceful forever and we'll never be able to transform again, or another series of evil will rise or something, and, umm, I'd rather have a break.
Those are just the extremes, you know.
W-Well, if I jump again I can guarantee that I'll have a chance to relax and have more adventures! And get more things from other universes!

So, umm, if anything does happen here, I can count on you two to have things handled...? Maybe leave Natir here to help too?
Really?? You're easily the most incompetent of the group! You need me more than these two!
Uh, no, you gotta tell them when trouble's around... I'll hold onto my communicator though, if you have to tell me something assuming these work cross dimension

Time to find a 10 year vacation.
...

There may have been some causalities during my time here.
I didn't wanna bring it up while the others were here. Y-You know, not to bring down their mood. They seem like they're gonna miss me. Can't really imagine why. Of the three of us I'm honestly the most frustrating...
But, um, anyway. Maybe next time I find an adventurous jump, I could find something or some ability to help with that. Or at least cope with losses more. Crystal said we should be thankful it wasn't us, but
...
I'm sorry.

JUMP 2: Update

I regret taking "It Never Stops!"
I told you that you would.
W-well, I thought it would give me plenty of time to practice my abilities!
You're not wrong. But you're lucky you have some teammates going for you, and Anti-Magic...

Oh, right, my teammates. Umm, I met them not too long after arriving, but only recently (like a year and a half later?) were we comfortable with knowing each other secret identities. Uhm-

Hihihi~! D, is this that journal you were talking about earlier?
WHAT YES BUT I-I DIDN'T SAY YOU COULD-
Oh, it's mostly empty... I would have thought you would have written down some of our adventures...
I only do that every ten years! M-More or less, anyway!
That's no fun... there isn't even anything about us!
I was getting to that! These are-
My name's Crystal~! And this here is Ruby!
Yo.

... They're 13, like me. It's exhausting being around children, even if I'm a child too.
You know, with how positive and friendly you are in battle, I would have never guessed you were actually this gloomy kid. Is it some kinda act?
You could say that...
D's not that bad, actually! Like, there was this one time that we had to fight this huuuge robot which kinda sucked because it wasn't really magic based and that's pretty much all we specialize in even though D has that sword he never wants to use for sOOMEE reason, but anyway I fought with the mech while Ruby figured out where it was being controlled from and D had to find the guy and use his shiny reflection illusion magic to trick him and beat him, and then he convinced the bad guy to use the robot to fix the damage he did and where was I going with this?

... Wish I knew. I guess since you two so pleasantly invaded my journal, I should probably tell you that-
THERE'S NO TIME FOR THIS, SHARD! Another monster is rising from the ocean!
WOULD YOU STOP INTERRUPTING ME NATIR!?
Doesn't matter, D! We have a job to do?

*siiiggghh*
I regret that drawback, so much.

JUMP 2: Generic Magical Girl*

*Unfortunately, D isn't much for the cross-dressing scene. Sorry for any disappointment.

Wha-
Okay, fine, more monsters, that's perfectly acceptable. No, I don't mind at all whoever you are. At least it seems like I'll be able to pick up magic abilities? I wonder how they work cross-dimensions...

Age: 12
... why.
Location: The 'Burbs
Pros: Not as busy as a city, less people, fairly convenient as far as stores are concerned
Cons: Can't run across rooftops, apparently. Monsters are better hidden.
Background: Drop-in
~FREE~. Speaking of...

Free Things
-A magical transformation!
(This lets me transform and use my magical girl powers, as well as disguise myself from anyone
who hasn't actually seen me transform. Can't use my powers without transforming though.)
-A magical animal companion!
(... you know what, I'll just use one of my Zubats. Welcome Natir. They will be able to speak and
    have average human intelligence.)
-Two magical girl teammates!
(I'm not using any pokemon to fill these roles, so I guess they'll be generated by the universe just
show up and see what'll happen from there...? Also if one of them is out of commission there will be
a replacement shortly after. That's... morbid. Oh, and apparently I'm the leader in this scenario.
    Hoo-ray.)
-A magic transformation pendant!
(Completely optional, but I like having things. It'll also return to me a day later if I lose it.)

Drawbacks and Suffering
(Two drawbacks, up to 600+ CP)
-Rival Magical Team +0 CP (does not count towards the two drawbacks)
(Occasionally another rag-tag team of magical girls (probably) will show up and try to save the day
while upstaging my team. Poorly. Personally, I wouldn't mind the help, even if it's not the best
    around.)
-It Never Stops! +300 CP
(As opposed to a monster a week, I'm required to stop a monster every three days at least. It's
okay, I've got teammates and a friendly rival team, right...?)
-Locked +200 CP
(Oh no, my aura powers that I totally didn't forget to hone in the last jump are only available when
I'm transformed. Oh woe is me, it's not like I was going to do that anyway.)

Perks + Items
(1500 CP to spend, let's go)
-Anti-Magic -600 -300 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(Oh? MY GOD??? I can shut down magic weaker than mine and disrupt spells that are stronger
once a day at the expense of being really tired!? And it gets better if I practice!? What in the FU-)
-Aggregate Impact Psychotherapy AKA: Befriending -300 CP
(I can cure villains of their evil ways through, uh, magic. After I've fought them of course...)
-That Did Not Happen! -200 CP
(Witnesses and stalkers are a concern of the past, with this handy ability to convince them I had
nothing to do with anything. Very useful, even outside a Magical Girl-esque universe...)
-Physical Boost -100 -50 CP (Discount Drop-in)
(I'm five times faster and stronger than someone my age, and can jump 20 feet in the air no sweat.
Of course, starting off here I'm only 12, but I'm sure it'll only get better...)
-Elemental Zap -100 CP
(Good for mooks and breaking windows, not so much in bigger fights. Yet, anyway...)
-Weapon of Power -200 CP
(A weapon + magic, naturally. I'm going to go with a simple sword, made of... glass?*... w-well, um,
it's magic, so it's sturdier than it sounds. And can cut through concrete. I don't intend on slicing and
    dicing people, though.)
-Item of Power -200 CP
(Same kind of deal, except not a weapon. How about an illusion-projecting mirror? Just uh, feel like
going with a glass theme for some reason.)
-Rich Family -50 CP
    (OH MY GOD ANOTHER FAMILY.
    ...and unlimited funds I guess.)
-Communicators -100 CP
(More things for me to collect! I-I mean, um, to keep in touch with my allies. Right...)

I feel like I have a lot more to work with here, especially with the whole magical element. Even my location shouldn't be a problem, given that Blend-In perk from the Pokemon jump. That's what they're called, right?
Right! But don't think this'll be a walk in the park! You've agreed to fight on a much more crammed schedule than regular magi!
... Natir?
Who else? Also, you need to decide on a theme for your magical group!
Is, um, is glass a theme? I mean, my last name IS Shard...
... *sigh* We'll find something close to that.

*I used a random weapon generator for Shard's weapon. And yes, the very first thing it suggested was, quote, "A fairly short, wide, smooth blade made of glass is held by a grip wrapped in common, bronze bear leather. With just one razor-sharp edge this weapon is the perfect choice for slicing and dicing while also offering you a way to effectively block attacks."

JUMP SUPPLEMENT: Cosmic Warehouse

Oh, I do get something out of this? I was mostly kidding, but alright!

"Free Thing(s):"
-A pocket dimension warehouse, 40,000 square feet of empty space
(For now it has just fluorescent lights and a concrete floor. Makes about as much sense as this
    even existing)
-A key, fits anything with a lock and grants access to the warehouse.
    (...refer to my comment above)
-Shelving, numerically ordered.

Upgrades: 130
-Force Wall -20 CP
(Apparently I can't close the door while I'm inside. I'd much rather be safe and have a Pseudo-Door)
-Housing -20 CP
(...what? Beds are nice. Not that I'm really planning on having "friends" over or anything. Idiot.)
-Medbay -20 CP
-Food Supply -10 CP
    (... I'd rather not die.)
-Local Net -30 CP
(Seems like the best way to get information on another universe. Hopefully they'll provide internet)
-GravityLink -10 CP
-Electricity -10 CP
-Plumbing -10 CP
(These four are just for comfort and the Housing area, really. I'll have to think about where to 'jump'
    to carefully, so...)

-Return -20 CP
(I'm not saying I'll miss the Pokemon Universe, I'm saying there's a chance I may want to spend
more time with, uh, research. You never know how complex these universes can be, right?)

INTERMISSION: So Now What?

So uh, I did it? I lived in another universe. Hooray...?

I've got the choice to stay, go home, or find another universe to visit for ten years. (I don't know why it's offered to me, I guess they enjoyed my misery). I'm not entirely sure what to do, so forgive me for trying to think this out here.

Option 1: Stay in this Universe.
NO.
I'm sure it's lovely place around the world here but I don't have the nicest memories. Plus, like, I'd like to see my family sometime, and they're not here, so... leading into Option 2.

Option 2: Go Home
... As much as I'd love to tell my brother about how alternate universes exist, for one I don't think he'd believe me (he's been a stick in the mud lately), and two, well, what, I get to tell him that I was cursed and crippled for ten years and hung around bats and a frog?
No...
If I'm going home I need a much better story to tell him.

...

Guess that leaves only one choice. Do I at least get anything else for deciding to keep with this?

Final Choice: Jump Again.

JUMP 1: Results

Oh.
Why.
Why oh why did I think this was a good idea. What irrational part of me made me decide taking a bike into a desert with a fake leg with mandatory bad luck would be tolerable in the slightest!?

... It took me longer than I care to admit to get adjusted to those things alone.

Mostly because I gave up going anywhere at first and read through the PokeDex they gave me. I thought that'd eat up most of my time in this place. 10 years is a long time though, and thanks to that "Savant perk" I got I was completely done my first time looking through it. Siiigh. Careful what you wish for, kids.

Don't worry though, I did branch out eventually. I ended up learning about the few places in this hellhole region where you can catch wild Pokemon. I bet you can't guess what I caught!
...
Zubats.
Just. Zubats. I ran into a Hoppip like, twice and I couldn't catch them.

So, uh, I left. After a year I left that region. No it didn't take that long because I was lost why would you ever assume such a thing you're ridiculous. Ended up in some place called Sinnoh* which was much nicer, though that might be the desert talking.

After that, well, I just sort of roamed. My army of Zubats and one Froakie weren't going to do much in the competitive battling scene. Believe me, I tried. I had plenty of time to try. Froakie did evolve into a Frogadier, and some of the Zubats evolved as well. Still not nearly good enough to become best there ever was, unfortunately.

Maybe fortunately, really. Not a fan of attention.

Ohwaittheblendinperk.

... I could have tried harder.

*Where the dear Jumper ended up was decided with another dice roll, the same kind that decided his location initially.

JUMP 1: Pokemon Trainer

Question: How does this even happen to a person?

It's been explained to me I have a chance to go to a whole new other world with monsters with unimaginable powers and criminals... that doesn't safe at all.  But at the same time, it sounds a whole lot better than sitting around here reading every other day. And with the promise of going home with no time passed, I can't help but to think 'why not'. So I guess I'll bite, but just this once...

Age: 17
I feel like I got ridiculously lucky here. Seems like a good sign
Location: Orre.
Ah, never mind. There's the bad luck I've gotten used to. I can't say I even knew that much about 'Pokemon' before, but I know I've never heard of this particular region before, and it sounds awful. At least they (whoever "they" are) say there's very intelligent scientists scattered about here, so that'll be a good source of help and interesting information
Background: Drop-In
It's free and I'm on a limited budget here.

Free Things
-A (surprisingly large) bag
-Pokegear
-A filled Pokedex
(excellent, I won't have to scramble for information too hard)
-5 Pokeballs
-3 Potions
(do these work on people? will have to experiment)
-A Hat
    (... I'll pass)
-An Actual Starter Pokemon!
(I don't know, all of these things look kind of weir IS THAT A WATER CLOUD FROG? What do you
call it? Froakie? Whatever, it's mine now and it's name is Leapfrog)

Expand My Spending With Drawbacks, Please
-Cursed +200 CP: bad luck no matter what
(I mean, did you see where I landed?)
-Crippled +100 CP: prosthetic leg below the knee, mechanical replacement impossible
(I want more points, and everything was a bit too much for me to handle.)

Perks + Items
-Combat Training -100  -50 CP (Discount Drop-In)
(Look, I'm a jumpy kinda guy. Literally anything that can help me keep my calm cool and my cool calm,
I'll take it, especially on a sale. Oh, and I guess being able to hold my own in a fight helps too...)
-Blend In -300 -150 CP (Discount Drop-In)
(Discount? Sold. Being able to hide in plain sight or in crowds sounds ridiculously useful in a world
    of monsters and mobsters.)
-Savant -600 -300 (Discount Drop-In)
(Discount? Discount immediate mental prowess?? Who would say no to this?? Now I can
remember everything single useless thing I learn ever!)
-Survival Training -100 CP
(This + Desert = no brainer.)
-Aura -600 CP
(... I can't really explain why this appeals so much to me. Maybe it's the idea of going home with a
supernatural ability. Or being about to control my emotions. What kind of energy does "anxious
wreck" produce, anyway? Eh, free barriers, that's always good)
-Bicycle -50 CP
(They said there's no routes in this region and that I should get some transportation. I have.)
-Medical Kit -50 CP
    (Better safe than sorry)

So this is all I'll have to work with. I had to do a bit of recalculation, I ended up wanting much more than I could afford. Though being in a totally new location far away from anyone I know...
Scares the shit out of me.

*The OOC Introduction

*So, what is this?
*This is a blog made to document Jumpchain nonsense. Jumpchain is a CYOA adventure wherein you (or your own character) can travel through fandom-based universes for an extended period of time, while collecting perks to make your adventures easier with some temporary drawbacks. I'd heavily recommend consulting Google for more information, my explanation's pretty bare bones.

*Some other clarification: Most of this blog will be written in character, in black text. Any OOC commentary will be like this, red text and asterisk.
*Why yes I am Undertale Trash thanks for asking

*Oh, and also I was dragged into this whole thing by some friends who also have their own blogs:
