That went better than I expected.
And a lot worse than I expected too, somehow.
Naturally, I couldn't convince the kid to continue on ahead. I really should have seen that one coming.
After a brief stop to a snail farm (how charming!) we found ourselves at her house. The woman who tried to kill us not minutes ago. Even that annoying dummy was there...
And Papyrus. Papyrus isn't the dummy, I thought I should clarify that.
So, the skeleton had a "foolproof" plan to have Undyne become our friend... I wasn't entirely sure if it was the wisest idea to go along with it, but I guess the kid's optimism was starting to rub off on me. I was finally convinced that my sibling could handle whatever would come across them.
...Even if I did have to save their butt earlier.
Anyway. The uh, "date" started off rough, but it turns out Undyne and I have a lot in common! We both know our human history and have similar techniques on cooking!
I don't know what she meant by "No wonder Papyrus sucks at cooking," I thought it was going well. Just a bit less fire and it would have been delicious.
So, uh, yeah. We're friends, and now we can move on ahead.
I don't really understand how the Underground could have a dank, wet place like Waterfall and a dangerously hot area like Hotland right back to back, but apparently it just does..
One of the first things we ran into was a lab, that had some more... interesting characters staying there. Namely a scientist named Alphys and a murderbot named Mettaton.
Yeaah. Umm, is it strange that I'd call Mettaton charming?
*(Not at all, human. After all, he is the Underground's biggest star.)
Sure, but he's trying to literally actually kill us.
*(I would have thought you'd be used to it by now.)
L-Look, I spent five years safe in sound in Toriel's house, and now suddenly I'm throwing my life on the line to protect this kid! It's not exactly a smooth adjustment, and-
*ACT: Smile
*[They smile patiently at D.]
... It's gonna be okay, huh?
...
They're not wrong, actually. They're capable. I'm capable. Dusty's wise. And we have help from Alphys.
Just gotta get through these puzzles and into the CORE... we can do that.
